Welcome TBEXers – Introducing Us…

Yesterday we arrived in Vancouver for the TBEX travel bloggers conference.  It looks like it’ll be a crazy weekend meeting up with lots of travel bloggers and trying to squeeze in all the pre-TBEX events, after-show parties, after-after show parties, free Vancouver tours and of course the actual talks and workshops themselves.

We are really looking forward to meeting lots of new people so for those of you who have just found us here’s our story.

About Us

We are Simon and Erin a British couple who sold everything to travel forever.

In 2008 we spent a year travelling around India, South East Asia, Australia, the South Pacific and the US and had such an amazing time that we thought we’d make it permanent.

So, after a year of learning how to blog and with Simon up to date on his Web Design skills, we sold everything we owned and hit the road again, this time for good.

In the last 16 months, we’ve taken in a large chunk of South America and a tiny chunk of Central America, starting in Brazil and working our way up through Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Panama and Costa Rica.

Along the way, we’ve grown our blog, built an online business, made a ton of new friends and discovered the intoxicating freedom of being able to live and work from anywhere in the world.

But we’re just getting started. After a short visit to the UK (hopefully with a side trip to Italy), we’re heading out to housesit in Japan and then on to Chiang Mai, Thailand. After that, who knows.

If you’d like to follow our adventures, you can subscribe to our email mailing list (1 email a week) by signing up using the form just up and to your right.

Alternatively, you can subscribe to our RSS feed, friend us on Facebook (hit the Like button to the right) or find us on Twitter.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us, @reply us or leave a comment, either right here on this post or on the mighty Facebook.

And of course please come and say hi at TBEX!

  1. Awesome! we also sld everything we own and crammed our life into 3 suitcases and four bags and moved to El Salvador to live with our five year old daughter. Life is awesome, grab it and ride! thanks for kicking ass and having fun

    • We had workshops and talks on travel blogger themes such as writing, photography, video, monetisation, branding, research etc but really it was mostly about networking with other travel bloggers and PR people. So, LOTS of parties!

  2. Hi,

If you are still in Vancouver let me know. My husband and I have been traveling for the last 2.5 years, it might be fun to grab a bite to eat and meet.

  3. It’s amazing what you can do nowadays with just a laptop, haha. As a web developer who is stuck in an office Monday-Friday, I have to say that I am jealous of your travels!

  4. Been following your blog for over a year now so I just want to say welcome to my hometown!

Hopefully you’ll stick around to see the local Canucks win the Stanley Cup and see the city go crazy and experience a slice of uniquely Canadian culture!

  5. Excited to get to know you a little better. Looks like you’re living something much greater than you probably thought was ever possible.

I always smile seeing those who are traveling this great big world and having fun in the process.

I appreciate you taking us along for the ride. Looking forward to connecting further.

  6. Have a great time and I hope you make even more new friends! We are so looking forward to having you home – even if it’s only for a visit! Mum and Dave xxxx
