We’re currently staying with Warren and Betsy from Married With Luggage in Guanajuato, Mexico and the day after we arrived we were up at 6:30am and hiking up the hills that surround this colourful little town.

Despite Warren’s constant reassurances that we were almost there when we blatantly weren’t, it was a fun (and, later, rather adventurous) walk with some lovely folks culminating in a wonderful view.

  1. My husband and I, were there in the 1970’s. We had lunch in Valencia. Visited the beautiful church. I have never gotten that church out of my mind. Would love to go back someday and stay for at least a month. Hoping.

  2. Am hoping to get to Guanajuato to locate the birthplace of my father who was born in Ocampo. Can you help me with any information you have about Ocampo. Also, he had a sister who lived in Leon. I think they are both in the state of Guanajuato. How far from the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guanajuata are these two places?

  4. I love Guanajuato, Gto. Lived there for a while in ’73, visited many times since. Actually lived in Valencia, above the city. Be sure to visit the church there. Painted all over. The roof of the Hotel San Diego is one of my favorite “studios”. Can you tell I’m homesick?
