We recently celebrated 12 years together by treating ourselves to lunch at the upmarket vegetarian restaurant The Gate, hidden away in a church in Hammersmith, London.
To keep costs down we shared the mezze platter to go along with our rasberry bellinis. It was plenty of food for lunch and everything was fresh, unique and delicious. With the platter you get to sample most of the starters so it’s great if you can’t decide what to order.
The platter included cous cous cakes with grilled aubergine in a broad bean and pomegranate salsa; roasted beetroot, hazelnut and goats cheese salad; three onion tart; wasabi potato cake with seaweed salsa; soba noodle salad; and grilled asparagus with polenta. All were amazing and we were so happy to find such unusual tasty vegetarian food.
