Photo of the Week: Colourful Houses of Guatapé

Medellin has an ideal location for day trips into the surrounding countryside to visit many beautiful pueblos. Last week we took the two hour bus ride to Guatapé, a pretty village of narrow streets and colourful houses. The patterns on the lower half of the houses are actually 3D and are all different.

Don’t forget travel insurance for your trip! We use and recommend True Traveller, which is the best option we’ve found for UK and EU residents. For everyone else, World Nomads is a great choice.

  2. I keep going back to colombia as every time I go I discover something new to see. I love peace and tranquility of places like Jardin, SantaFe d’Antioquia,La Ceja,Guatape..and the list can go on and on. Every time I go I get the feeling am going back in time and it has always been a wonderful experience . I will retire to Jardin and am already looking for a new home there.
