Travels
Tomorrow we will have been travelling for six months. It has gone by really quickly and we are feeling very comfortable with our new digital nomad life. We’ve been taking it slowly, but that’s the beauty of having no time limits. We spent three weeks each in Brazil and Paraguay and now over four months in Argentina.
August has been a quiet month. We left our Salta apartment to housesit Leigh from The Future is Red‘s house in a rural area about 12km outside of the city. Without a car we were pretty isolated so we didn’t do much other than work, play with Mani the puppy in the huge garden, sit in the sun and go for the occasional walk or bike ride.
After two months in the Salta area we had itchy feet and were ready to move on to Bolivia, but as Simon is in the middle of a big job we decided to move back to our Salta apartment (the jacuzzi was calling us) until it was finished. The current gorgeous hot weather is certainly making it easier to stay. We should be heading to Bolivia next Monday though.
Never Ending Voyage Around the Web
This month this is where we were found around the web.
Kirsty from Nerdy Nomad chose Simon’s The Benefits of Selling Everything You Own as the post she wished she had written for her 7 Link Challenge. We love Kirsty’s blog so this was quite an honour!
This popular post was also included in the Gen Y Travel blog carnival, the Digital Nomad blog carnival and in The Working Traveller‘s favourite articles of the month.
Another honour was being included in our first Spanish blog. Pablo from Viaje Completo discusses travelling as a vegetarian (he is a very rare Argentine vegetarian!) and mentions that even though he lives in the city he found our post on vegetarian restaurants in Buenos Aires useful.
Gap Year Escape included us in a list of 30 Couple Travel Blogs. Check out some of the other great blogs included.
Our Road Trippin’ North West Argentina article was featured in Heading There‘s first travel blog carnival, while Our Favourite Tropical Islands: Part 2 Fiji was included in the second carnival.
We gave advice on our favourite country India in the Simonseeks post on Top Independent Travel Destinations.
Digital Nomad Update
New work came in this month for Simon: designing and building a website for a Goan hotel, and there is more work lined up for September. The challenge now is going to be working in Bolivia with really slow internet.
Next week we’ll be revealing our income and expenses from our first six months as digital nomads.
You can keep up to date with our Bolivia adventures on our Twitter and Facebook pages. If you don’t want to miss out on new posts then sign up to our free weekly email newsletter or RSS Feed.

I wish you the best of luck on the next stage of your travels. I can’t believe it’s been 6 months already. It feels like yesterday that I was reading your posts and Twitter updates about Brazil.

It is hard to believe that we haven’t seen you for 6 months – though Skype is making this nomadic adventure easier for the Mamma back home! Good luck and stay safe in Bolivia! Speak to you again soon! LOL xxxx
Skype is amazing. Makes this digital nomad thing a lot easier.

Stuck or not, it sounds like a fabulous adventure! I started house-sitting four years ago. Fell in love with the city I’m in in Mexico and now I find it hard to leave!

We definitely want to do more housesitting. Where are you in Mexico? We can’t wait to get there (it’s a long way off though).
